What is my WEP key? What is my WEP key?

If you have a wireless modem for your ADSL or ADSL2+ connection, a WEP key is essential for the security of your connection. In order for a computer or phone to access your internet service, they'll need to first enter this key.

To find out what your key is with a Netcomm modem, open your internet browser (such as Firefox or Internet Explorer). In the Address Bar, type in 192.168.1.1 and press enter.

This will take you to a log in page. By default, the username is admin, and the password is admin. Log in.

You'll find yourself at a Quick Settings page. Click Advanced Settings.

Select Wireless from the top menu. Then, select Security from the sidebar.

Under the heading 'Encryption Key', you'll find your WEP key.
